After years of studying personal finance, I formulated the five levels of personal finance in the upright pyramid and inverted pyramid.

Most people fall into the inverted pyramid. After getting their first salary or profit, they become financially confident. They are confident to spend their money on anything that they want. They know that they will have money every two weeks, or weekly. They are also confident to go into debt because they know that they have a source of money. They spend their future money for today. Then, they spend like they are financially free, financially independent, and financially secured. They think that they are secured by their jobs or paycheck. With these habits and mindsets, they end up educating themselves at the last minute and when they are broke.

On the other hand, only a few people follow the upright pyramid. In this pyramid, they start with financial literacy. They study how to handle and manage money first. Then, they work their way up to be financially confident, the highest level in personal finance.
